Floating Plants

The roots of floating plants provide ample hiding spaces for small fish and fry. The effect of light through the roots creates a surreal effect in the aquarium echoing sunlight inside the water. Bear in mind that these floating plants can grow pretty quickly and take over the aquarium and hence need to be removed periodically. Do not discard them in open waters as they could invade native streams. Some of the floating plants can be used for mulching gardens and as feed for herbivores too.
